WTOP: Council feels "thrown under bus" by Weast's letter

...The council members aren't happy with a recent move by Schools Superintendent Dr. Jerry Weast..

"When you start calling pieces into question that shoot your funding sources in the foot, I gotta question what you're doing," Knapp says...

"The superintendent has taken it upon himself to play some games that are very dangerous to play," Ervin says...

If the council's maneuver doesn't pass the test with the State Board of Education, the school system could be fined more than $40 million -- a move that could cost big time, in the classroom.
