Fact Check: Tofig departed MCPS for an "amazing opportunity" that he couldn't pass up

Former MCPS Director of Public Information and Web Services Dana Tofig is returning to MCPS as Director of Public Information and Web Services, following approval of his reinstatement at the Board of Education meeting today.

Tofig left MCPS on June 17, 2011 to take a position with Achieve, Inc. in Washington, D.C.  At the time of his departure from MCPS, Tofig told the Examiner that "his new gig was an 'amazing opportunity' that he couldn't pass up."

There's no word on whether MCPS gave Tofig a salary increase as part of the deal to return to MCPS.

    So, The BOE has no money for teachers but they have plenty of money for their multi-million dollar marketing/PR department. ok, got it. Thanks Louis.

    His new company probably asked him to make coffee everyday. At MCPS he has underlings to do that for him.
