MCPS Staff Admit No Contract Exists for Promethean Board Purchase

The Montgomery County Board of Education just voted to buy 2,000 Promethean brand Interactive White Boards without a contract.

Despite what Superintendent Joshua Starr's memo had stated, there is no current contract to make this purchase.

So what just happened at the Board of Education? The Board of Education turned $8.9 MILLION dollars over to MCPS staff to play with.

One Board member did not vote to approve this resolution.  Board of Education member Mike Durso voted against Superintendent Starr's plan.

  1. Well, we know what's next for Mike Durso..........he'll be told by MCEA that the teachers don't like him anymore and then....CUT from the apple ballot!!
Only rotten apples allowed on the apple ballot.

  2. My God, how have our children learned anything prior to the magic promethean boards?
Promethean Boards.......is this Starr's magic bullet to improve test scores? MCPS can't even provide proper trainings for Weast's Curriculum 2.0 roll out! The teachers don't know whether to scratch their watches or wind their heads. BUT, all of the teachers WILL have a state of the art promethean board. Too bad the teachers will have no idea how to properly teach the new curriculum. Oh yeah, teacher preparedness won't matter, because they will all have an amazing promethean board.
