Starr's Personal ACES Program will only support certain students.

Remember back on September 13, 2012, when Superintendent Joshua Starr surprised the public with the announcement of his personal agreement with Montgomery College and the Universities at Shady Grove?  He called his unfunded program ACES.

The Parents' Coalition obtained a copy of the Agreement that Superintendent Starr signed without Board of Education approval.  In the Agreement we learned that Starr was committing precious MCPS Operating Budget resources to the ACES program.  The program will only be available to students at a select list of high schools.

This is the list of approved high schools:
  • Blair
  • Einstein
  • Gaithersburg
  • Kennedy
  • Northwood
  • Rockville
  • Watkins Mill
  • Wheaton
